The 18th Annual Meeting of the Asia Pacific Plant Protection Commission (APPPC) was held for the first time in Beijing Liangmahe Hotel, Beijing, China, from 23-28 August 1993. Fifty delegates from 20 countries (25 members of the council) attended the conference. They were from Australia, Bangladesh, China, France, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Laos, Portugal (Macau), Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal Pakistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Kingdom (Hong Kong) and Vietnam.
