20世纪初期罗塞蒂的艺术思想在中国的传播大致体现在绘画和诗歌两方面。这时期由于当时国内文艺界正值新旧观念的交替时期,罗塞蒂的绘画与诗歌艺术被中国文化思想界译介之后引发了学界的普遍关注。其中原因,既有罗塞蒂绘画和诗歌艺术反抗传统宫廷艺术,追求中世纪人与自然和谐之美的原因,也有在中国传统文化艺术思潮变革之际社会文化发展的实际需要等因素。当时的中国艺术界试图借用罗塞蒂艺术中对理想美及对人性的追求表现,来打破中国传统文化势力的束缚,为当时艺术文化的创新发展注入新的活力。同时,罗塞蒂艺术思想在当时的传播也受到一定的时代局限的束缚和影响。在当时,社会经济与审美方式的差异以及东西方不同艺术表现体系的载体、材料差异等均是不可忽视的重要因素。
The dissemination of Rossetti’s artistic ideas in China in the early 20th century reflected the two aspects of painting and poetry. Due to the time when the domestic literary and art circles came into being at the time of the alternation of old and new concepts, Rosetti’s paintings and poetry were translated and introduced by Chinese cultural and ideological circles, which aroused widespread concern in the academic circles. The reason is that both Rossetti’s painting and poetry revolt against traditional court art, and the reason for the beauty of harmony between man and nature in the Middle Ages. There are also some factors such as the actual needs of social and cultural development during the transformation of the traditional culture and art in China. At that time, the Chinese art circles attempted to use the performance of the ideal beauty and the pursuit of humanity in Rossetti’s art to break the shackles of the traditional Chinese cultural forces and infuse new vitality into the innovation and development of art and culture at that time. At the same time, the dissemination of Rossetti’s artistic thought was also restrained and influenced by certain limitations of the times. At that time, the differences between the social economy and the aesthetic mode, as well as the carriers and material differences between the different artistic performance systems in East and West were all important factors that should not be neglected.
