在英语教学中我们谈论最多的就是素质教育,作为一名教师,我们应该怎样理解素质教育呢?在我们的日常英语教学中又该怎样去实施素质教育呢?新编英语教学大纲的核心是贯彻素质教育思想,培养学生运用英语去进行初步交际的能力。做为基础教育学科的初中英语和其它学科一样,肩负着提高全民思想道德修养和文化素质的任务。现我就谈谈我在英语教学中如何实施素质教育的,我认为,科学的人文式的课堂教学模式,是实施素质教育的主渠道:
英语素质教育的教学中,我们教师应做到科学制定教学目标,科学设计课堂教学,科学研究教学方法等,当然再科学的东西也必须是人文的,因為我们的素质教育的实施必须通过我们的学生来实现,没有学生的实践,任何素质教育都将失去意义。
1 科学制定教学目标:
目标教学是构建素质教育的重点,教师必须了解、熟悉、掌握教学内容,明确教学大纲,要求所要达到的教学目标,通过分层教学,因材施教,使目标教学落到实处。教师在上新课前,首先弄清本课的教学目标,教学用书上提示的教学步骤,再分析学生达到这个目标的难点是什么。并根据学生的学习基础,学习习惯、学习方法以及兴趣爱好,反复钻研教材,明确教学目标,确定每课的重点和难点,同时把教学目标及时交给学生,让学生心里有数,从而达到了教有目标,学有目标,指导检查也有目标,使之在课堂上能有的放矢地进行教学,顺利完成制定的教学目标。例如:Grade 8 ( Unit10, the first part & Grade 9 Unit 7 ( Section B, the second part ),这两部分的主要内容的Topic 是:Dreams 。我认真钻研教材和结合所教学生的具体实际情况,我是这样设计我的课堂教学目标的:
Topic——Talking about dreams
The aims of teaching : importance and difficulties
1)knowledgeable points : Go over how to use “ will +verb; be going to +verb ”
2)Goals( Ability) :Let the students talk about their own dreams in the future
3)Emotion of teaching: To help the students know it is important for them to have dreams
2 科学设计课堂教学以及科学的教学方法
素质教育中教师指导与学生学习相结合,智力因素与非智力因素相结合;课堂教学与课外活动相结合;课堂教学与学生实际应用相结合。课堂教学应努力引导学生从被动接受知识,转为主动探索知识,变“学会”为“会学”。要做到这点必须在培养学生的学习兴趣和动脑、动口、动手上下功夫,让他们主动参与教学活动,以调动他们的学习积极性和主观能动性,形成以学生思维为核心,能力为目标的科学人文式的课堂教学模式,所以本单元的课堂教学我是这样设计的

4. His dream is to help the people in trouble .
5.Her dream is to travel around the world .
6.Their dreams are to study better.
III. Tell the students we should have our own dreams .
Review the basic words and phrases by showing some pictures and reading . It helps the students have their own dreams .
n. policeman ; policewoman; engineer ; diplomat; doctor ;nurse; teacher ;
actor, actress; singer ; professional player ,waiter; dancer; bus driver.
v. hope to do ; grow up ; would like to do ;be going to do ;want to be ,volunteer to do sth.
再通过一系列的活动让学生练习句型:
1)I'm going to be a/an__________.
2)He is going to be a/an__________.
3)They are going to be__________.
IV .Ask the students to read a passage about his dream
A letter from a student in Wenchuan.
Dear Uncle Policeman,
How are you ? I'd like to tell you about my life .After the earthquake, although everything was destroyed by the big earthquake ,because of your help ,we can go back to the classroom to study ,and we also havemany interesting books to read, we are all happy again . My classmates all have new dreams .My friend Fang Fang is going to be a policeman when she grows up. She hopes to help the people in danger .Xiaohu would like to be a doctor ,he wants to help the people. I also want to be a policeman , I want to be a useful man when I grow up.
Yours : Dong Dong
1)What is Dong Dong ?
2)What do you think of Dongdong's life now ?
3)What's his friend Fang Fang's dream ?
4)What's Linda's dream ?
5)What'sDongdong's dream ?

V: Talk about our dreams ,Try to help the students to talk about their own dreams,by using the sentences that they have learned from two units about topic . At the same ,Make them know it is important for them to have their own dreams ,maybe their dreams are small ,but they are very useful to them .
Give some useful sentences structures from the two units :
A: Questions
1)What are you going to be when you grow up ?
2)How are you going to do that ?
3)What is he /she going to be when he /she grows up ?
4)How is he/she going to do that ?
B:To help the students answer these questions
I'm going to be__________.
He/She is going to be__________.
VII. Pairwork: Ask students to make a short dialogue to talk about their own dreams when they grow up/in the future.

課堂上教师采用什么样的教学方法,学生就往往会采用相应的学习方法,它直接影响到学生的学习效果。为此,教师在课堂教学上应努力以灵活多样的教学方法,精心设计教学过程中的各个环节,围绕学生能力素质的发展进行教学。由于教学大纲要求的教学内容本身就是根据知识技能、顺序、结构和学生的初始能力的特点做出安排的,所以可以直接拿来使用,在此基础上,按照知识技能的相对完整性,可将教学知识技能发展序列分成几个教学环节。一般来说,每一课教师所要进行教学的内容不外乎三个部分:①复习已学过的语言材料;②以旧带新教学新的语言项目如词汇、语音、语法和句型等;③进行各种形式的听、说、读、写训练活动。为此,一般采用“五环扣教学法”;即:复习——介绍——操练——练习——巩固。在每一个环节当中,教师的作用都有所不同,如采用口、笔头练习、测试、听写、提问等复习方式;利用实物、图片、借助动作、猜迷、接龙式提问、简笔画等介绍新的语言项目;或通过做游戏、扮演角色等方式提高运用语言能力;充分利用和“复习要点”,练习册中的练习,口、笔头练习等加强学习运用的能力,以加深印象,巩固记忆。教师要在教学中自始至终观察全班学生的反应,要随时根据情况变换自己的角色,保证所教的内容大家都能接受,达到完成课堂的整体教学任务,在教与学中实施完成素质教育。
