Reading specifically refers to the traditional “paper reading ”. According to the survey, “reading population”, which maintains reading habit, only accounts for 5% of the total population nowadays. 4.5 per cent of national people read books per year, while 11 in Korea, 20 in France, 40 in Japan and 64 in Israel ... This set of data is sufficient to explain the current lack of reading. Today’s primary school children, especially rural children, are able to stop and study extra-curricular books even more rarely. There are 47 students in our class (fourth grade), but over ten have never read “Andersen’s Fairy Tales” or “Green’s Fairy Tales.” In addition to a limited number of good home writing books, no extra-curricular books. They do not spend time with friends watching TV, surfing the Internet.
