The increasing share of road transport in all modes of transport has become a global trend. In Europe, for example, 70% of passenger traffic and 90% of freight traffic are carried by road transport. However, due to budgetary constraints, governments in all countries in the world are constantly cutting public spending on road infrastructure. As a result, road congestion continues to escalate, which also leads to greater pollution and impact on the environment. Public dissatisfaction with the road infrastructure is increasing and transportation costs are on the rise. At the recent European Forum Conference on the theme “Investment in Railroads and Highways in Europe,” the International Road Union (IRF) discussed again the increase of private investment in road infrastructure.
