这种联接器由西德研究成功,在欧、美、日本等地得到了广泛的应用。图1为收缩圆盘联接器的纵剖面。在齿轮、联轴器等轮毂4上装了两个带锥孔的法兰6和一个锥形环2,两法兰是用螺钉5连结的。法兰中间有一个O形圈1,用于防尘与隔油。当拧紧螺钉时,两法兰靠拢,迫使锥形环收缩,在锥形环与轮毂间产生很大的接触压力,该力又通过轮毂传到轴3上。收缩圆盘联接器就是靠接触压力所产生的摩擦力来传递扭矩的。图2表示各零件的受力状况。

In the gear, coupling and other hub 4 is equipped with two tapered flange 6 and a tapered ring 2, the two flanges are connected by screws 5. There is an o-ring 1 in the middle of the flange for dust and grease isolation. When the screw is tightened, the two flanges close together, forcing the tapered ring to contract, creating a large contact pressure between the tapered ring and the hub, which is transmitted to the shaft 3 through the hub. Shrink disc connector is the contact pressure generated by the friction to transmit torque. Figure 2 shows the stress conditions of each part.
