老年大学是所特殊的学堂,老年学员拥有独立的思维判断能力。丰富的阅历和多年形成的习惯,使他们不会轻易改变已有的观念和看法。但同时他们又信服真理,只要是反映客观现实并具有说服力的理论,他们便会心服口服。因此,老年大学要积极开展民主式教学,突出学员的学习主体地位,建立起民主平等,互相尊重、信任、合作的师生关系。就教师而言,教学中要注意充分发扬民主,尊重学员的主体地位,鼓励他们主动参与教学。教师要尽量淡化其教育者的身份和地位,不硬性灌输和命令,而是通过交流、沟通、合作、引导等方式,一起分析、研究,互相感受、理解,从而共同获得心智的发展、
