我国单机功率最大的干线货运内燃机车—东风_8型(图1),于1984年10月17日在铁道部戚墅堰机车车辆工厂正式落车,较计划提前三个月。1984年11月20日上午,铁道部副部长张辛泰等领导为这台机车正式投入线路牵引运行试验剪了彩(图2)。在此之前,铁道部李森茂副部长等领导到南京火车站专线视察了该机车,给予了很大的鼓励。这台新型内燃机车,装有一台功率为4500马力的16280型中速柴油机,采用的是交一直
