在一定的生产方式基础上产生,并由特定时空中的历史主体所具体操持的思维方式,不仅是一个民族特殊性格和精神的直接表征,而且是一个民族文化特质赖以形成的深层次原因。中国传统思维方式,既是中国古代封闭的小农经济和大一统的宗法社会的必然产物,又积淀在人们的心理结构之中,参与并熔铸了我们民族的独特性格和独特的文化意识。中国古代文学理论作为中国古代文化一个有机构成部分,它的理论形态和理论特质的形成,虽然从对象性上说,是由中国古代特殊的文学实践所制约的,但若从其理论自身的逻辑必然性上分析却又直接导源于中国传统思维方式的特殊机制。
