How Thqnksgiving Dqy WqS born?
In the United States, the modern Thanksgiving holiday tradition is traced to a documented 1621 celebration at Plymouth in present-day Massachusetts. It was held for a good harvest. At that time, Pilgrims and Puritans who began emigrating from England in the 1620s and 1630s carried the tradition of Days of Thanksgiving with them to New England. Several days of Thanksgiving were held in early New England history that have been regarded as the“First Thanksgiving”. Around 90 native Americans attended at that time.

Why Turkey(the bird) shares the Same name with Turkey (the country)?
In the former days, Europeans liked having guinea fowl imported to the continent. English called the fowl Turkey because it was imported by Turkish merchants. Later on, when Spaniards came to America, they found a kind of bird tasted like those guinea fowls. When these birds were sent to Europe, English called them turkeys as well.
