金枣学名罗浮,芸香科,柑桔类,金桔属。因果实色泽金黄,形状似枣面得名。云霄县种植金枣已有近四百年历史。至今云霄民间还有在新春佳节,以甜金枣待客,互视“吃金枣,年年好”的风俗。金枣果实小巧玲珑,皮薄籽少,味浓汁多,肉质脆嫩,甜酸适口,连皮带肉可食。含有蛋白质、脂肪、碳水化合物、柠檬酸、钙、磷、葡萄糖等多种营养成份。其中,维生索C、B_1、B_2含量列各种水果之冠,每百克果皮肉中含维生素C高达200毫克。早在明代李时珍的《本草纲目》上,就有金枣治咳化
