HP公司三月份开始一场彻底的战略行动,行动的目标是将价值420亿美元的该公司的各类产品和服务集中到Internet上。该战略被称为“电子世界”(Electronic World);是尝试将HP公司从日益增长的商品硬件竞争转向该公司执行者称为“市场的美妙点”的领域,这个领域将Internet硬件和软件产品及服务结合成一个高额利润的混合体。
HP began a thorough strategic campaign in March. The goal of the operation was to focus the company’s various products and services worth US$42 billion on the Internet. The strategy is called “Electronic World”; it is an attempt to shift HP’s competition from growing commodity hardware to what the company’s executives call the “better point of the market,” which will be Internet hardware and software products. And services are combined into a highly profitable mix.
