Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is increasingly recognized as a public health burden, with an incidence of up to 10% in the general population and a higher incidence of the elderly. The risk of malnutrition, persistent inflammation and cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with CKD has increased significantly, leading to a high risk of mortality. Identifying modifiable risk factors and reducing the risk of complications is important to the vulnerable population. Increasing attention has been paid to the role of dietary fiber in preventing CVD and cancer, and medical institutions recommend increasing dietary fiber intake.
