本刊记者获悉,上海海运(集团)公司为了加快推进(集团)公司建立现代企业制度的步伐,优化(集团)公司工业布局和修船生产要素,提高企业的综合修船实力和实现规模经营效益,经研究决定,由立丰船厂、立新船厂、外轮修船厂联合组成上海海运船舶工业有限公司。 船舶工业公司于1996年10月11日召开了第一次董事会。由燕明义、沈杰、潘永华、林治税、洪流、沈汉和、吴国志、鲍建中、高国强、徐海华、邱明和等十一位董事组成。
