San Francisco State University is a comprehensive university founded in 1899. Located in the southwest corner of downtown San Francisco, it is one of the 23 campuses of the California State University’s largest educational alliance, the California State University system. There are more than 30,000 students, including more than 20,000 international students from more than 100 countries. Currently, it offers 118 bachelor’s degrees and 96 master’s degrees, and co-organizes special doctoral programs with the University of California, Berkeley. Its geographical location is unique. It is just a mile away from the Pacific Coast and it takes only 15 minutes to drive to the downtown area. The school also has a wealth of hardware facilities. There are more than 200 student groups, television stations, radio stations, and newspapers in the school, providing students with an environment that fosters a variety of interests. San Francisco State University has a hundred years of history, so someone used “When you walk across SFSU’s campus, you walk across the world” to describe it.
