当资本遇上艺术品沈桂林失踪了。失踪前,他身份多样,是海南省工商联副主席、海南省收藏家协会会长,也是海南泰达拍卖有限公司和海口泰特典当有限责任公司,以及北京美丽道艺术中心的法人代表。自2010年2月开始,沈桂林以个人名义,用海口泰特典当责任有限公司做担保,允诺月利息2%至3%的高额回报,向社会公众非法吸收存款,用于投资发展其他产业和还本付息及个人消费。随着非法吸收公众存款数额增多,还本付息的压力越来越大,资金链断裂。去年12月,沈桂林潜逃香港,后辗转到泰国、柬埔寨、老挝等国家藏匿。最终被专案组在老挝抓捕。
