Liver Cytochrome P450 (CYP) is a multi-gene family of enzymes that play a key role in the metabolism of many drugs and allosteric compounds. Each CYP isoenzyme responds to different exogenous compounds based on its induction and repression mechanisms. Studies have confirmed the impact of Schistosoma mansoni infection on overall CYP.
