OBJECTIVE: To investigate the changes of T lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood and the relationship with delayed healing in radiotherapy wound healing. Methods: T lymphocyte subsets were detected by alkaline phosphatase immunohistochemistry. Results: The morphological observation of the wound area showed that the wound healing was delayed after high-dose local irradiation. The number of leukocytes decreased after irradiation, and the decrease was obvious at 3 ~ 5 d after wounding, which was significantly lower than that of the simple wound group. Blood T lymphocytes and its subgroups all decreased, however, the irradiation group was always lower than the single injury group, and there was still significant difference between the 28th day after injury. Conclusion: The decrease of peripheral blood T lymphocytes and their subpopulations and the decrease of white blood cell count after radiation are the important reasons for radiation delayed wound healing
