西夏党项族主要的丧葬方式有水葬、天葬、火葬、土葬、塔葬5种,包含不同民族文化因素,它吸收了汉族传统文化,同时还保留了许多民族特色和习俗,也是汉族文化与北方各民族文化的交流与融合。本文从甘肃武威发现的七座颇具特色的西夏火葬墓来了解西夏火葬的形制及其特点。墓中出土的一批木器、木板画和四座木缘塔等文物,为研究西夏的葬俗提供了极为珍贵的实物资料。
