In the next decade, the liquid propulsion unit business undoubtedly will be affected by the efforts to put the space shuttle into full use. Assuming that this was done in the early 1980s, funds would be available to put liquid propulsion technology on board and to start researching new programs and expanding basic research and technology. The use of space transportation systems will determine the development trend of new systems and liquid rockets technologies in the coming years. If we were able to make immediate promises of advanced liquid propulsion systems as we did in the 1950s and 1960s, we believe the following advances will be made during the 1980s.
