印尼铁路为国有,最早通车于1864年;比我国唐胥铁路早17年。营业里程6,700公里,70%在瓜哇岛,轨距除苏门答腊岛有500公里为570毫米外,其余全为1,067毫米。有铁路职工约5万人。 在全国各运输部门运量中,铁路客货所占比重都很小。印尼铁路虽购入新型客车,企图与公路争夺顾客,但线路的通信、信号不配套,尚难收到实效。所以,上等旅客乘坐飞机,低挡旅客乘坐便宜的长途汽车,铁路夺回客运的希望不大。但国铁总公司所在地万隆与雅加达间,每天有6往返特快,连续跑3小时不停车,也从不晚点,受到顾客们的欢迎。
Indonesian railway is state-owned, and was first opened to traffic in 1864; 17 years ahead of Tangxu Railway in our country. Operating mileage of 6,700 km, 70% in the island of melon, with a gauge distance of 500 km to 570 mm outside Sumatra, the rest are 1,067 mm. There are about 50,000 railway workers. In the transport departments across the country, the share of railway passenger and cargo are small. Although the Indonesian railway purchased a new type of passenger vehicle, it attempted to compete with the road for customers. However, the communication and signal of the line are not complete and are not yet effective. Therefore, the good travelers on planes and low-bound passengers take cheap long-haul buses and railways have little hope of recovering the passenger traffic. However, there are 6 round-trip express flights between Bandung and Jakarta, where the headquarters of the National Railways are located. They run continuously for 3 hours without stopping and they are never delayed until they are welcomed by customers.
