兴趣是人们积极探究某种事物的认识领域倾向时产生动机的前提条件。对于初次学习英语的学生来说,它能直接转化为学习动机,成为激励学生学习的动力,从而提高学习效率。如果老师能始终坚持激发和培养学生学习的兴趣,就等于给了学生一把打开知识宝库的金钥匙。因为只有学生感兴趣的东西,他才乐于去学;只有乐意去学,才有学习的主动性,才会不畏艰难地把它学好。作为学生内在动机体现的兴趣,是教师在教学中着重培养的。在培养兴趣的过程中,注重实效与形式结合,从而既培养学生的兴趣,又使学生增长知识。
