通过对学生基于网络的英语学习情况的问卷调查、学生网上学习情况的反馈、对教师的访谈以及对两组学生在一年半时间里四次测试成绩的比较,本文证实了教师在促进基于网络的语言学习中的重要作用,揭示了学生网上语言学习活动与教师促进和指导的关系,网络环境下学生自主与教师自主的关系,以及学生的英语学习成绩与他们在网上学习的投入量之间的关系,并根据研究结果提出了促进网络环境下大学生英语学习自主的建议。
