The US battery market has a scale of 6.1 billion U.S. dollars. In the first half of the 1990s, the market expanded at a rate of 2.9% each year. It will increase by 2.7% each year in the next ten years and reach 8 billion U.S. dollars in 2005. The battery market can be divided into two major categories: batteries and dry batteries. The former includes automotive batteries and rechargeable batteries, accounting for two-thirds of the market. Climate is a major factor affecting the demand for replacement batteries (especially car batteries). Both cold and hot summer will significantly increase their demand. In 1996, the battery market was replaced.
