This article studies the changes in the distribution and number of mast cells in colorectal cancer. It was found that the number of mast cells in the cancerous week was significantly higher than that in the normal group, and it was surrounded by “walls” that surrounded the cancer tissues. It was speculated that mast cells might have the effect of inhibiting tumor growth. Progressively growing cancers have more cancerous cells at the base of the tumor than invasively growing cancers. The number of mast cells in the infiltrating area of chronic inflammatory cells was more than that in the normal group, and it seemed to have a certain concomitant relationship with the inflammatory reaction. The changes in the mass and quantity of mucin secreted by colorectal cancer and adjacent “metastatic mucosa” have a certain relationship with the number of mast cells.
