Class E tuned power amplifier operating conditions can be described by a set of equations based on Fourier series analysis. Previously published articles have led to the working state of an optimal amplifier whose collector efficiency for an idealized circuit is 100%. As practical amplifiers are made of non-idealized components and the load they carry is not ideal, it is necessary to determine the effect that deviates from the ideal state. The digital results of load reactance, shunt capacitance, load resistance, frequency and duty ratio are presented. The amplifier has been found to allow for reasonable circuit interfacing. With proper output filtering, the amplifier operates almost in the octave bandwidth, with less than a 5% reduction in efficiency.
