现在想起来,一匹马的名字叫做“庞然大物”实在有些奇怪。一头大象取这么个名字还差不多。也许……用它来称呼一匹马也行?不在乎它的个头根本没有大象那么大! 在本世纪(二十世纪一译者注)初,“庞然大物”是马萨诸塞州牛顿市消防队里的一匹头马。它能像一阵风似地跑得飞快,对路上任何拦在前方的东西似乎都会毫无理由地讨厌,包括一些开在他周围的汽车。
