In the preparation of high concentration coal slurry by ball milling, it is necessary to avoid the ball kinetic energy and the reduction of the collision wind rate between the ball and the particles. Loading binary mixed balls with significant differences in particle size is effective for fine grinding. The French test was performed using a laboratory scale ball mill equipped with 19 mm and 1.2 mm binary hybrid steel balls. The progress of the grinding was evaluated using a sieve with a mesh opening of 3 μm. In short, the above considerations have been tested.
