Odyssey, the Adventures of Machi, Bellow’s third novel, describes the life of a Jewish youth, Ogi, wandering through the search for his “good enough destiny.” The story is built in the form of a double vagrant, one is the body wandering, the other is the spiritual exploration. The novel reflects one of the eternal themes of Bellow’s work: the conflict between an individual and the outside world. The article aims to analyze the dual vagaries of Ogi. Through the study of the origins of the beluga complex in Bellow, it reveals the driving force behind the exploration of Odyssey. At the same time, starting from the ideas of the Jewish nation and some basic principles of existentialism, this paper analyzes the unfinished journey of Ogi.
