改革开放以来,我国为了适应国民在交通工具方面的需求,进口和生产了大量摩托车。摩托车数量的骤增,促进了摩托维修业的发展。根据不完全统计,广州、深圳分别拥有摩托车维修部(行)2411家和1356家。除了日本四大摩托车厂和国内各摩托车生产大厂(主要指嘉陵、轻骑、建设、南方等)在我国各大都市(主要指北京、上海、广州)设有特邀维修部和专门维修部外,绝大多数维修部为个体户经营,形成了个体户一统
