After more than 100 years of controversy, the Stad Tunnel, the world’s first ship’s tunnel on the west coast of Norway, is finally under construction. The tunnel, built under a 645-meter high mountain, connects Moldefjorden in western Norway And Kjodepollen, 1.7 kilometers in length, 45 meters in height and 36 meters in width, allowing the passage of vessels weighing up to 16,000 tons and draft of 12 meters. It is estimated that the road will be completed by 2029 at a cost of up to 319 million U.S. dollars. Currently, ships traveling between Aram and Maloy must travel to Sri Lanka
