Objective To study the influence of 3D printing assistant education on anxiety and sleep condition in trauma patients. Methods From October 2014 to June 2015, 40 eligible patients were selected and randomized into intervention group and control group, 20 patients in each group. The visual analogue of pain in both groups was recorded from admission to 7 days after operation (VAS), state-trait anxiety questionnaire score (STAI score) and Likert score. The differences of anxiety, pain and sleep satisfaction between the two groups were tested by using the analysis of variance of repeated measures. Results There were significant differences in VAS scores, STAI scores and Likert scores between the two groups (P = 0.003, <0.001 and 0.01, respectively). Conclusions The 3D printing assistant education intervention method can effectively control the anxiety, alleviate the pain and improve the sleep satisfaction of patients with acute trauma.
