Benz global market is recovering, but Joachim Schmidt, its executive vice president of marketing and sales, will leave Mercedes-Benz’s brand marketing executive at the age of 65. On October 1, AMG’s Business Management Committee Chairman Ola Kllenius takes over his position and will continue to advise and help the latter before he retires. Schmidt has been working for Mercedes-Benz for 34 years, of which more than 20 years as a variety of marketing and sales executives. In October 2009, Schmidt became a member of the Management Board of Mercedes-Benz Automotive Company, where he was responsible for marketing and sales. He also oversees marketing companies and marketing and sales executive committees worldwide, covering management of passenger cars, Micro facet and truck business.
