目前所通用的避难綫长度計算方法,是将避难綫分成一系列短坡段,假定在各个短坡段范围内的运行阻力不变,使失去控制的列車进入避难綫后,在各种阻力的作用下停下来。其具体計算原理及过程,在鉄道部第三設計院所編《分界点》一书中已有詳細叙述。在計算列车沿避难綫通过每一坡段后所做的功时,必须先求出作用于列車之阻力与制动力。这些力有: (1)机车在閉汽运行时的单位全阻力ω′_(oz); (2)车辆的基本单位阻力ω″_o; (3)空气单位阻力ω_(cp); (4)手制动机的制动力B_(py); (5)机车逆汽制动力B_(mkn); (6)进入道岔时由于冲击所生的附加单位阻
