Characteristics of Solar Energy Resources and Grid-connected Solar Power Technology Solar energy is the energy generated by the continuous nuclear fusion reaction in the sun. It is a clean renewable energy source, with rich resources and widely distributed characteristics. Its development and utilization have a bright future. Compared with conventional energy such as fossil fuels, hydropower and nuclear energy, solar energy resources have the following prominent features or distinctive features: first, low energy density; second, energy supply process is random and intermittent; third, large-scale storage is difficult. Solar power generation system can be divided into off-grid solar power system and grid-connected solar power system. Off-grid solar power systems, also known as standalone systems, are solar powered systems that operate independently of the grid. Grid-connected solar power system is connected with the public power grid and shared power supply tasks of the system. The premise of the large-scale development of grid-connected solar power generation is to realize a “comparable network” and a low-cost large-scale energy storage technology, after which solar power is only a useful supplement to the form of electricity supply.
