The number on the back cover (read “Country”), the Shi Di Ding, and the Boshan Furnace are ancient artifacts two or three thousand years ago (see the illustration on the back cover). These bronze castings are complex in structure and exquisite in design. They were cast using the “lost wax method”. As can be seen from these three bronze wares, as far as three thousand years ago, China’s casting technology has reached a very high level. As far as the start of casting, it is much earlier. The remarkable achievements of ancient Chinese casting techniques have not only been expressed in bronze casting but also in the casting of cast iron; not only in castings such as “artifacts” and Buddha statues, but also in everyday utensils such as iron pots, iron plows, and bronze mirrors. , coins and weapons. These achievements demonstrate the wisdom of our working people.
