  Abstract:The purpose of educational internship program is to provide opportunity for the students in normal university to experience the real teaching activitirs. An internship experience involves field placement, a firsthand work experience in which the student learn how to apply academic knowledge in the educational setting. The student becomes a participant-observer in the field under the direction of a field supervisor.The intern is subject to the authority, rules, and regulations of the sponsoring school district (John.Daresh, 2001).

  1、Review of domestic and international internship
  Teaching is a profession which not only requires deep and broad professional knowledge but the art of organizing the class and effective ways of teaching performance which develops in the real teaching activities. Therefore, domestic and international Ministry of Educations all pay more attention to teaching practice and make internship an indispensable part of education curriculum. In China, students in normal university must take teaching practice under supervision in middle school or high school. Western country such as America sets up professional schools for training future teachers. And in German, they regulate that the future teachers should have a eighteen-month period practice training(徐志伟,2007).
  2、The interns should deal with kinds of relationship properly
  The internship period is a period of learning and teaching, during which interns play three specific roles-a learner, a teacher and a partner, thus forming into three different relationships. That is to say, in order to be successful interns, they must be able to act these specific roles properly: first, they should be prepared to be willing learners. Second, they should keep a proper relationship with their pupils. Third, they should cooperate with their colleagues (Albert. Gibbs, 2003).
  As a learner, though they are full of professional knowledge comparatively, they are fresh in teaching. So they should learn from their experienced supervisor with modesty and diligence. They should communicate with their supervisor frequently and ask for suggestions timely. Only by doing this can they fully learn the basic and effective skills of teaching.
  As a teacher, the interns should deal with the relationship with their pupils properly. On the one hand, they should build up a friendly relationship with the pupils, which can facilitate their communication with the pupils. On the other hand, they should be strict with their pupils in terms of learning especially in class. Otherwise the pupils would not take them seriously, and cause some trouble deliberately in the class, which make them embarrassed and become less convinced.The interns, as modern university students, they should introduce them some new ideas and effective methods, and give them pertinent advice according to their experience.
  The interns who are separated from their classmates would feel lonely in the field, and they need the opportunity to communicate with other interns who are experiencing the same challenges. They should get together periodically to exchange ideas and discuss the problems they confront with. Especially before they stand on the platform, they had better present their teaching procedure to their colleagues and improve it together, and then they would be more confident in the class. The cooperative work will enhance their team work ability and benefit a lot by learning from each other.
  3、Benefits brought by internship
  Internship performance is a trilateral activity. Interns, district schools and normal universities all can benefit from it a lot.
  The internship provides the interns an opportunity to put theory into practice. By doing this they can be aware of the working environment. What's more, the internship provides the student with a last opportunity to refine a general teaching philosophy before becoming a true teacher.
  School system benefits from having the opportunity to train the future teacher according to the real need. In addition, the interns can introduce current theory and techniques to the school, which is also good to the teaching improvement.
  The university can be aware of educational needs by keeping contact with schools. Through involvement with participating schools, the university is able to make programmatic changes based on needs observed through the process. The collaborative efforts of the university and schools can lead to continuing action-based research for the improvement of education.
  4、Conclusion
  Teaching practice plays a key role in the growth of interns. However, the teaching practice actually has obvious insufficiencies in China. First, the cooperation between normal universities and district schools is loose and there is a lack of constant fundamental practicing bases. Second, the internship period is so short that interns neither fully apply the theories to practice, nor completely exert their reflective ideas to the work to fully develop their creative ability.
  There is no doubt that well-organized internship can play an important role in the education of effective and excellent future teachers. Here are some proposals for improving our country's teaching practice: firstly, set up a constant relationship between normal universities and district schools. Secondly, consummate administration system of the internship. Thirdly, enforce the implementation of every activity in internship period. Fourthly, ensure a reasonable long-term training for students as a teacher in a school setting by those practicing professionals who are most experienced.
