Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is the most prevalent form of the diabetes mellitus with a defect of insulin secretion and hyperglycemia,imposing immense health and economic burdens for nearly 400 million people worldwide [1].It is often caused by a combination of lifestyle and genetic factors that raises blood glucose level with ensuing insulin resistance in the liver, skeletal muscles, and adipose tissue [2,3].Despite the common use of glucose-lowering medications, there are still limited prevention and treatment measures of T2D and it is of great need to develop new strategies for T2D treatment.
