尽管,在云南甚至在全国,禄劝彝族苗族自治县都是一个穷得“响叮当”的贫困县,40余万各族群众中,尚有10万多人仍没解决温饱问题。但近几年由于下决心狠抓教育,全县少数民族教育事业有了很大的起色。采访中,一串有关数字跳进了我们眼帘: ——全县目前有各种中、小学校730多所,公办教师2100多人(其中少数民族教师600多人),民办教师700多人(其中少数民族教师230多人),中、小学生76100多人(其中少数民族学生22920多人); ——从去年开始,3所县办中学共开设了6个少数民族初中班,3个少数民族高中班,招收了450名少数民族学生;
