Through experimental observation and thermodynamic calculation, Ti (C, N) precipitation in CSP low carbon micro-Ti steels was studied. A large number of Ti (C, N) second phase particles of 15 ~ 30nm were observed in the experiment, which were precipitated and grown in the hot rolling of the slab and the first two passes respectively. A small amount of TiN particles with a size larger than about 50 nm were precipitated, and no microscopic TiN inclusions were observed in the slab. The results show that the particle precipitation behavior under CSP process has changed compared with the traditional process, so the role of trace Ti in steel is also very different.
