香港有两种电影类型一直占据主流并声名远扬,一个是功夫片,另一个无疑是喜剧片。香港拍摄的第一部短片《偷烧鸭》(1909)是喜剧,香港制作的第一部有声片《傻仔洞房》(1933)也是喜剧。除了日军入侵的三年沦陷期之外,香港对喜剧片的拍摄与制作一直情有独钟。在上世纪五六十年代香港电影的繁荣期,喜剧片已经成为电影主打类型中一支非常重要的不可忽视的力量;而到了七八十年代,喜剧片则成为香港电影的一种主流样式;九十年代之后,香港电影不再追求一种纯粹、单一的喜剧样式,而开始走向多样化的发展,不同类型的电影都融汇了喜剧精神的因素。值此香港电影十年(1997-2007)之际,《电影》杂志倾力策划香港喜剧电影专题(两期),籍此对香港喜剧做一纵向梳理,希望引起大家对香港电影类型传统的再认识。
There are two types of movies in Hong Kong that have dominated and become famous, one is a kung-fu piece and the other is a comedy. Hong Kong's first short film, “Stealing the Duck” (1909), is a comedy. The first sound card made in Hong Kong, “The Hole in the Stooper” (1933) is also a comedy. Apart from the fall of the Japanese invasion during the three years of its invasion, Hong Kong has always had a soft spot for filming and making comedies. In the boom period of Hong Kong films in the 1950s and 1960s, comedy films have become a very important force that can not be ignored in the main types of films. In the seventies and eighties, comedy films became a mainstream style in Hong Kong films. After the 1990s, Hong Kong films no longer pursued a pure and single comedy style, but began to move towards diversified development. Different types of films have come together with comedy. On the occasion of Hong Kong Film Decade (1997-2007), Film magazine is devoted to planning the Hong Kong comedy film series (Phase 2), so as to make a longitudinal review of Hong Kong comedy in the hope of arousing the public concern about the Hong Kong film genre tradition understanding.
