As early as 1795, S (?) mmering pointed out that people with smoking can have lower lip cancer, which is the first record of the relationship between smoking and malignancy. By 1939 German M (?)ller pointed out that most of lung cancer patients have a history of smoking. After the 1950s, some industrial countries organized large-scale investigations into the relationship between smoking and lung cancer. For example, the results of a survey conducted by Doll et al. in the United Kingdom found that the mortality rate of lung cancer among men over 35 years of age with severe smoking was more than 20 times higher than that of non-smoking individuals. They also found that the mortality rate of lung cancer increased with the increase of smoking.
