被称为“浑身上下都是艺术家”的丰子恺,是中国少有的集散文家、音乐教育家、美术教育家、漫画家等为一身的多栖艺术家。特别是丰子恺风格独特的漫画作品,不但刻画了一个时代的众生相,还蕴藏着极为深刻的哲学意义。丰子恺在漫画方面的巨大成就,一方面得益于其总是能在寥寥几笔中勾勒出一个独特的意境,另一方面则得益于其“先天下之忧而忧”的人性悲悯情怀。这是一种至善至美的哲学情怀。追溯丰子恺作品中的人性悲悯思想,对于解读作品中的人性悲悯情怀有着重要意义。
