In 1920, two relatively independent advertising organizations were established in New York: New York Art Direction Club and Copywriter Club. Each organization has its own sponsored advertising awards. By 1974, the two clubs decided to combine their respective advertising awards and jointly set up the One Show Award, establishing the One Club for this purpose. The significance of One Show’s name stems from the concept of artistic guidance and copy integration proposed by Conan Doyle’s creative revolution. In 1975, The One Club for Art & Copy was founded in New York to improve the level of global advertising creativity. Its more than 1,000 members are the creative elites of major advertising companies in the world and the most admired in the advertising industry.
