According to statistics from the Ministry of Domestic Trade, the 95-year home appliance market continued to be a hot spot in the consumer market on the basis of strong sales in 1994. According to statistics, TV sales accounted for 94% of TV sales in the first half of the year; double-door and multi-door refrigerators accounted for 82% of sales of refrigerators; and automatic washing machines accounted for 47% of sales of washing machines. The level of consumption has soared, and it has shifted from big cities to small and medium-sized cities and wealthy rural areas.
