草是村庄的灵魂。春天一回来,草儿们就一股脑儿地醒了。先是星星点点,不几天工夫就热热闹闹地绿城一大片。这时,村子就像一个大病初愈的人,气色也一天天好起来。在我的故乡江南,草的家族非常庞大。有的草喜欢热闹,它们大大咧咧地长在路边,看着村子里的人匆匆忙忙地出去讨生活,又看着他们风尘仆仆地回家;有的草喜欢清静,挤挤挨挨地长在山坡上,看着蓝天白云,等着牛羊的到来;有的草俏皮淘气,喜欢长在田埂上或庄稼的身边。这些草,家乡人是这样称呼的:百草、抓地龙、硌疤草、猫猫眼、猪毛草、狗尾草、狗蹄芽、灰灰菜、苋菜、黄花苗……这些名字听起来亲切温暖,就像他们家的孩子似的。
