From 1763 to 1774, the thinking, principles and attitudes of the British North American colonial peoples underwent radical changes. Such ideological changes were called “real American revolutions” by scholars. There are many factors that have prompted this “real revolution”. One of the reasons that can not be ignored is the revolutionary press propaganda. During the Thomson Revenue Law crisis (1767-1770), revolutionary editors engaged in an advocacy campaign to preserve the rights of the colonies. On the one hand, they constantly issued letters to encourage the colonial people to take concrete actions against British policies. On the other hand, they attacked British policies and government officials and alienated the colonial peoples’ feelings toward their home countries. At the same time, the revolutionary press made tremendous efforts to establish a system of discourse on freedom and rights in colonies. The three years of propaganda by the revolutionary press have, to a certain extent, prompted the abolition of the Townsend Tax Law, which has strengthened the political and emotional ties between the colonies and enabled the people of the colonies to further clarify their freedom and rights, An independent path laid an important ideological foundation.
