China’s traditional agriculture has a history of more than 2,000 years. The cultivation and utilization of green manure including rape has an irreplaceable status and significance in the traditional agricultural production in our country. China is the source country of Ziyunying green manure. Green manure has been one of the important sources of biological nitrogen fertilizer, organic manure and feed in China. Fertilizer-rice-paddy has become one of the main planting systems in southern paddy field. From 1960s to 1970s, with the reform of farming system, especially the development of double-cropping rice, the development of winter green manure in paddy fields dominated by vetiver
