新中国成立之初,人民解放军在东南沿海地区同国民党军持续进行的一系列军事斗争中,有三次登陆战役特别引人注目,它们分别是:1949年10月下旬的金门岛登陆作战,1950年3月～5月的海南岛战役以及1955年1月的解放一江山岛之战。在金门登陆作战中,由于第10兵团轻敌,仅以3个团作为第一梯队渡海攻击有敌主力3个军约4万人踞守的大金门岛,结果在敌陆海空三军联合反击下,我军3个登岛团悉数罹难,损失9086人。登陆失利的阴云曾一度笼罩着海、空力量十分薄弱的人民解放军,在浙东沿海一江山岛
