This article describes a sensitive far infrared (100-400 micron) detector system that includes liquid helium cooled GaAs photoconductors, a low temperature preamplifier and a room temperature post amplifier. The bandwidth of the system is 1 Hz ~ 30 MHz, 10 times larger than the InSb thermoelectric bolometer.
